In business for 50 years, Herring knows septic!

Herring Sanitation and Septic Services, Inc. has been in business for 50 years this year. It all started when Jimmy Herring bought the shittiest truck he could find. We have made a lot of memories over these 50 years and our customers have as well. 


We want to hear your stories and are willing to offer cash prizes to get them! 

$200 Cash Prize will be awarded to the BEST SEPTIC RESCUE customer story about how Herring saved the day.


Every entry will be added to a raffle, so even if you aren't chosen as the winner of our cash prize, you will be entered to win a $100 voucher good for your next service at Herring (even a pump job!).

From now to August 11, 2023, just post your funniest or best septic rescue story using the hashtag #herringstorycontest on Facebook or Instagram and make sure to tag us @herringseptic. Complete the form to the left so we can contact you with important updates about your entry.


On September 8, 2023, the official winners will be announced.

Family Owned and Family Run, Since Day One

Thanks to our loyal customers and all the work that has come our way throughout the years, Herring has been able to grow as a family and raise our children here. With 8 children and 16 grandchildren, many in the Hudson Valley have gotten to know the Herring family personally.


It is not easy to run a business, employ workers, raise a family and ensure you have a good reputation on top of all of that. We're so proud of all we have been able to contribute to our customers through hard work and perseverance.


Through the Pandemic and the challenges that have followed, we are so glad we have been able to stay the course, stay in business and stay true to our company values - to provide good work to our customers and a good work environment for our workers.
