The video camera is an extremely powerful tool when used for a visual inspection of underground sewer lines and other piping to determine the condition inside the pipe. A flexible rod with a specially designed, high-resolution video camera on its tip is inserted into the pipe for inspection. As the rod is pushed through the pipe, the waterproof camera displays its progress and findings. With the video camera, Herring is able to identify obstructions, determine the extent of damage to the pipe and pin point the location of the problem area. The condition of underground pipes usually cannot be determined without a visual inspection using a video camera and the accuracy of the video camera often reduces the amount of excavation necessary to correct the problem, as it helps pinpoint the problem.
This Camera is special tech, and a special ordered tool for Herring Sanitation’s team. This tool looks up the Culver pipe and zeros into the pipe to see if there is a need of cleaning or vactoring it. More importantly if there are any breaks in the storm water drainage system they can be discovered and pinpointed so that repairs can be made more efficiently in an effort to save money for the property owner.
